Sad on Couch

Why psychological therapy?

It might be that you have been struggling with something for a while, and it gets to a point where things can't go on the way they are.  Sometimes, people come to therapy after a trigger or difficult life event, and at other times with uncertainty about why they feel the way they do.  Some people have been given a nudge by someone who cares. We all need extra support sometimes.  Whatever your reason, therapy can give you a safe space to understand yourself better, learn strategies to cope, and help you move forward and move on.

I work with a range of difficulties, such as:

  • Anxiety, social anxiety and health anxiety

  • Depression and low mood

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Phobias

  • Panic attacks

  • Low self-esteem and confidence issues

  • Stress

  • Anger

  • Relationship issues

  • Personality disorders

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Complex trauma (CPTSD) and historical abuse

  • Dissociation

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Adjustment difficulties to acute and chronic physical health conditions, injury or pain conditions e.g. fibromyalgia
